Brooklyn's got a new delivery-only cupcake bakery called Sprinkle Sprinkle, which also delivers to Manhattan and Westchester. I asked co-owner Elizabeth Halpenny (who is a past employee of both Bijoux Doux Specialty Cakes and Crumbs!) to tell us more about their cupcakes and how they formed Sprinkle Sprinkle:
SprinkleSprinkle came about after Ali and I met at Cheryl Klienmans after culinary school. She is a well known wedding cake (and more) designer. We both studied under her and started doing things for friends and ourselves on the side. We liked having more control and creative freedom, and the ability to showcase projects we did from start to finish as our own. So we aim to be the essential custom order cake, cupcake, cookie and more girls. We work out of Brooklyn, but do deliveries in Westchester and Manhattan. Our pricing is directed by the amount of work and time we have for a project. The striped "9" cupcakes were $4 a piece based on it being an order with no notice. The other link i am sending were $3. Typically our cupcakes from 2.50-4.00. I believe the majority of our pictured cupcakes are on the lower end. We adhere to scratch baking ideals, fresh ingredients, real butter etc etc. Ali also went to art school and has a great eye for color and design, my favorite cupcakes being the ganache iced cupcakes with floral accents.
