According to our summer intern from Spain, everything in America is way too sweet - including our favorite vanilla cupcakes from Cupcake Cafe. What a surprise to us as we have always considered Cupcake Cafe to be the least saccharine of all the local cupcake options. The butter-based cream frosting and dense vanilla cake feel well balanced and not overwhelming sugary. Maybe we should send him down south to taste real dessert sweetness.
