Not too early for candy cane cupcakes

I know we're about three months away from the season for candy canes, but I don't care. People have already told me they've started holiday shopping (aka, my obsessively organized friends; I don't even think about it until mid-November) so that makes candy cane cupcakes fair game, right? Are any of you thinking about holiday cupcakes yet? My favorite is a peppermint frosted cupcake I've had from sugar Sweet sunshine that tastes like the inside of a York peppermint patty, in frosting form.
