Pastry chef David Chesarek, who owns the company with his wife, Galen, says they use particularly rich batters for cupcakes since such small cakes are more vulnerable to drying out. The Food section staff found no such problem with the delicious sour cream- and brown sugar-enhanced German chocolate cupcakes topped with a dollop of fudge frosting. Other flavors include red velvet and buttermilk banana.
