What's the best cupcake flavor you've ever had? (Frosting and/or cake)

Mine's peppermint frosting on vanilla cake, followed closely by marshmallow frosting on chocolate cake.

The best cupcake I've ever had is just a basic carrot cake with cream cheese frosting from The Cupcake Station in Birmingham, MI. If your ever in the area, you must stop in and try one!

Fudge cake with mocha frosting. Not fancy or crazy or anything, but sooo delicious. Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting is a close second.

Oh, I just made 'smores cupcakes. To die for. Simple chocolate cupcake with a marshmallow/buttercream frosting. Yummmm!
I really enjoy lemon with cream cheese icing, but my favorite store-bought has been dark chocolate with brown sugar icing.

It's a tie: First I'd say a matcha cupcake with matcha cream cheese frosting, but when I'm feeling less Eastern, I always remember fondly a fabulous pumpkin cupcake with white chocolate chunks and cream chese frosting...

It shows that I'm not a buttercream fan, eh?

My favorite is the strawberry cupcake(with strawberry frosting) recipe from a contest Good Morning America had a year or so ago - it tastes like you are biting into a fresh strawberry. Divine!

Lemon cake with a key lime or lemon injection and lemon frosting. Citizen Cupcake in San Francisco and Leda's in LA both made these. My eyes are glazing over thinking about it.

Chocolate Kahlua cupcakes with cream cheese icing. Oh. My. Gosh!

Though, I do want to try Liz's Smores cupcakes. That sounds yum!

The best cupcake I have ever had was chocolate with a white 7- minute frosting. My grandmother was famous for her 7-minute frosting.

chocolate cinnamon cupcake with chocolate ganosh frosting...or carrot cake w/ crushed pineapple & cream cheese frosting....at least that's what sounds good right now (it's so hard to choose!)

That's really hard. A standout for me was a chocolate cake and a coffee flavored whip cream frosting made with real marscapone cheese. It was a tiramisu cupcake.

I must admit, the tastiest cupcake I have ever indulged in was a red velvet cupcake the size of a small toddler's head. The "red" of the red velvet was deep and smooth. The cake was super moist and so chocolately. Personally, my favorite part of the red velvet cupcake is the tangy cream cheese frosting. On this particular cupcake I'm speaking of the cream cheese made you want to melt. It put the VELVET in RED VELVET!

I must admit however, that a close second was a burnt butter cupcake I discovered in Nigella Lawson's "How to be a domestic Goddess" The flavor of the scorched butter is unlike anything I've ever had before. It's like caramel, yet it's nutty and rich YUM I'm getting hungry just writing about this...I need to go bake something!

The best cupcake I ever had was a lemon curd filled cupcake with a lemon glaze icing from Holterman's Bakery in Staten Island, New York. I used to eat them as a kid, and they are still available today, and taste exactly the same as years ago.
