I like the idea of using the platter to write the birthday message instead of trying to squeeze it on top of the cupake itself.

That's one of the giant cupcakes made in the Wilton two part pan, no? Still though, I've been seeing the method of writing right on the serving platform all over from famous bakeries lately. I think it's brilliant (you can totally erase it if you mess up lol)

Leigh: Yep, it's the Wilton giant cupcake! I originally wrote it that way because the giant cupcake somehow looked small on my cake carrier. Adding the writing filled it out. Plus it was way easier than writing on the cake!
