Link Update: Ladybird Bakery of Park Slope, Brooklyn

I just found out that what was once Two Little Red Hens Bakery in Park Slope, Brooklyn is now called Ladybird Bakery.

Turns out the partners who owned the two different Two Little Red Hens bakeries (the other one is on the Upper East Side) split and therefore the Park Slope one had to change its name.

On Ladybird's website there is no mention specifically of cupcakes; however, I called to ask and yes they do still offer cupcakes at their bakery like I remembered.

If the quality is the same as I remember back a few years ago when I lived in that neighborhood, then they're definitely worth a trip to try them.

Has anyone had their cupcakes lately? If so, let us know what you thought of them in the comments!

One other thing: when I discovered that Ladybird Bakery was now in existence as a separate entity from Two Little Red Hens, I added them into our sidebar of cupcake bakeries over on the right-hand side. If ever you see out-of-date information over there or can't find a bakery that you think should be listed, just email us at cupcakestakethecake AT yahoo DOT com! Thanks!

I remember when it was called Two Red Hens also. I haven't tried the cupcakes lately; however, I did purchase a lemon birthday cake and a key lime pie for a party. They were both just passable. I seem to remember their cakes being much more delicious. I especially remember the wonderful birthday cake I ordered for my Dad which had peach buttercream frosting, when it was called Two Red Hens. The decorations are nice .

I stopped in a few times over the summer and I found their baked goods to be DELICIOUS. Every time I went I spent 10 minutes choosing and on minute eating (scarfing) because it was so good. Everything tasted fresh and the cake/icing/filling combinations were perfectly matched. The store was cute too: tiny, homey, cozy, quaint... I've been to the Two Little Red Hens in Manhattan and it seemed a bit gimmicky. Although I am a cupcake fan, I thought their cakes were works of art and enjoyed seeing their ever changing selection.
