I love CrossFit. I love cupcakes. As many of you know, I train clients and teach classes at CrossFit NYC: The Black Box here in Manhattan. But before I was ever a trainer, I was baker, and more specifically a baker of cupcakes. Not only that, I was a blogger of cupcakes (we've been doing this blog since 2004, in case you didn't know!).
Now as part of my job at CrossFit NYC, I do the gym's blog every day, where I post the workout of the day, a photo or two of our members in action, and a series of links to interesting articles about health, fitness, nutrition, etc. Our members are a lively bunch, commenting on how did on the workout, or giving their opinion on topics that are raised in the links. We have a lot of fun on our blog.
In looking for cool stuff to blog about for the CrossFit NYC blog, I often will read other CrossFit affiliate blogs (there are now 1,000 CrossFit gyms around the world).
And one of those CrossFit gyms, which is not far away from New York, actually, is CrossFit Watertown. I'm friends with Lisbeth Darsh, who is the owner of CrossFit Watertown, so imagine my surprise when I found this post about cupcakes on her blog:
Now normally, we here at CTTC are big cupcake defenders. We like to defend cupcakes against any and all slights or insults. But in this case, I think Lisbeth means well, and I'll have to let her slide...

Do you like cupcakes? I don't. In fact, I even utilize the term "cupcake" is in a very different way, like "Push that bar over your head, Cupcake!" or, passing a partner on the mountain bike trail, "C'mon Cupcake, catch me!" So, at CrossFit Watertown, we've been tossing around the idea of making a "Cupcake of the Week" poster... with the idea that this is one place you do NOT want to find your photo. It's only been a threat, until this morning, when we were missing two notable members of the morning class. So, should it be extra burpees for absentees or should I make a trip to the teacher supply store for some colorful poster graphics? Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions...
