San Francisco cupcakes I cannot wait to try next month

My new friend Tantek, who I met at CupcakeCamp2, sent me this link to some photos that make me want to head back to San Francisco ASAP. Thankfully, I'm going back at the end of January, and they're from That Takes the Cake, where I will be sure to visit (for some reason, even though we've posted about them before, I thought it was a custom company but it's an actual shop). Samoa cupcakes! (They're double chocolate cake filled with caramel filling, caramel cream cheese frosting and toasted coconut!) Very exciting.

And a closeup cause I also love chocolate mint:

When I did my cupcake tasting in San Francisco, That takes the cake was the best. I was very impressed with the taste and moistness of its cupcakes..

This place is def. going on my list when I visit S.F. too. Samoas have always been my favorite Girl Scout cookies - those look so delicious, as do the chocolate mint!

That Takes the Cake makes my favorite red velvet cupcake!
Of all the places I've had cupcakes (SF, Denver, NY, NJ, London), it was the most perfect red velvet I've ever tasted. The cake is moist & delicious. The frosting is just the right amount of sweetness, not too sweet.
I'm envious of your SF trip. I can't wait to get the chance to have their cupcakes again. Looking forward to reading your blog about your visit there!
