Blogging and Cupcakes event in D.C. April 1st

Blogging and Cupcakes

We try really, really hard to stay on top of cupcake news, but it's hard to know about everything (posting about things in a timely manner is another thing, working on that!). So I'm sorry that we're only just now letting you know about an amazing-sounding event (I mean, blogging and cupcakes? Perfect together, of course!) that is unfortunately sold out, though you can get on the waiting list (and see who's attending). For those who can't be there, follow the conversation live using the Twitter hashtag #blogcakes to keep up. So next time we'll let you know so you can sign up. Blogging and Cupcakes is sponsored by DBCPR+New Media and Debbie Weil.

From the event's site:

Blogging and Cupcakes is a series of delicious conversations about social media. The first event in our series will be held at the ultra cool Baked & Wired in Georgetown. The event will feature a case study by HHS social media guy Andrew Wilson.

Wednesday April 1, 2009: 6:00 - 7:15 PM

Rapid Response: Using Social Media in a Crisis

Wilson will talk about the HHS/FDA/CDC Social Media page which was set up — in only four days — to educate consumers and enable them to spread the word about the Peanut Butter Product recall related to salmonella. In addition, he will tell us about crowdsourcing the new HHS Center for New Media.
