We've seen pickle and ice cream cupcakes, but now Brooklyn's mini cupcake purveyors Kumquat Cupcakery have gone one better in the savory cupcake sweepstakes with pickle cupcakes with salt and vinegar potato chip cupcakes, which were apparently a "crowd favorite" at the 303Grand Official Flavor Tripping Party.
Now, I love Kumquat Cupcakery with all my heart but this leads me to question whether the savory cupcake craze has gone too far. I can't truly say without trying them (and I do happen to love vinegar potato chips, especially how they melt your tongue), but still, I'm hesitant about these. What do you think?

My mom used to eat salt and vinegar chips on long road trips, and the smell in the closed up car would drive me CRAZY. I still can't eat them.
But there's a place in this world for all cupcakes ;)

Even though I am aware it is a bit unorthodox as a cupcake flavour. ha!
