Flickr user noishum made these Pokeball cupcakes (they're part of a very cool set of treats that includes Pacman and other video game cookies, which you should so check out and I would post, but once we start letting non-cupcake-related cookies on this blog...well, we'd lose our focus, and "All Cupcakes All The Time...But Sometimes With Cookies" is too wordy of a tagline).
Best of all though is the DIY spirit behind these. She emailed us:
The Cupcakes are rich chocolate cake, layer of chocolate icing, red and white fondant (i think i misspelled that), black royal icing. I did a layer of chocolate icing so i would get a smooth finish when i put fondant on, i also rolled the fondant very thin as i find it a little sickening when there's too much :)
I maintain that anyone with a bit of patience, creativity and the internet can make fun treats. I have no training at all, so i watched a youtube video on fondant haha!
