Tomorrow, July 22nd, marks the opening of the new branch of Cupcake Royale in Seattle's Capitol Hill. And what would a cupcake bakery opening be without free cupcakes? Not as much fun, that's for sure!
From their press release:
Cupcake Royale, Seattle’s original neighborhood cupcake bakery, is opening its newest and biggest location yet! To celebrate, everyone that stops by the new Capitol Hill Bakery and Café on the grand opening day and utters the phrase “Legalize Frostitution” will receive a free fresh Strawberry 66 babycake (Cupcake Royale’s July “Cupcake of the Month”) while supplies last.
This takes place from 6 am to 11 pm, and here's a photo of this cupcake:
They blog:
To be fair, this cupcake café is a work of art in and of itself. Designed by Roy McMakin & Ian Butcher over at DOMESTIC ARCHITECTURE, and all put together by the good guys over at Dovetail, we kind of can't believe how gorgeous it is. With glasswork by Greg Lundgren, woodwork by Sterling Voss, countertops and furniture by Big Leaf Mfg.
More from their press release:
“It brings me a great sense of pride to open my business in the neighborhood I’ve lived in for nearly 20 years,” Hall said. “The bakery has been fun and intensive to design and build, and we’re fortunate to have so many talented people behind its creation. We can hardly wait to open the doors and share it!”
Distinctive from Hall’s first three locations, a conceptually designed space, one-of-a-kind works of cupcake art (including a 5 foot tall, stained-glass cupcake Royale) and signature Roy McMakin tables and counter tops make the Capitol Hill bakery a custom affair. Expect a semi-private party area, bistro tables and chairs, a community table, and a bakery peepshow picture window exposing back-of-the-house operations.

They also have 3 other Seattle locations, and you can keep up with them on Twitter and Facebook.
