We are the (world) champions! Yes, we did make a 33.5 inch cupcake kebab - world's longest!

I have to say, this pose of us all smiley and happy for setting a WORLD RECORD makes me happy all over again. People sometimes ask why we do this blog, how much there could be to say about cucpakes, and ultimately, cupcakes make people happy. They're fun. You can do cool things with them (besides, of course, eat them), like make cupcake kebabs.

Thanks so much to Universal Record Database (URDB) for having us present this and for hosting such a super-fun night Nichelle is right that Nora started a powerful piece of cupcake history, so huge thanks to her for starting this fun trend and being so quick with the kebab making! (If you are new to the world of cupcake kebabs, click here for a how-to and intro and Nora talks about the inspiration for them on her site.)

Nichelle Stephens and Rachel Kramer Bussel of Cupcakes Take The Cake and Nora Vetter of Nibbles by Nora assembled a cupcake kebab that measured 33.5 inches in length. Vetter, who invented the concept and baked the cupcakes they used, stipulated at least 1/3 of the kebab be made of cupcakes.

The women set the record on August 12, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present as witnesses.
