I love Robicelli's. I loved its cupcake wars and how beautiful the shop is. I especially love Matt and Allison, the proprietors. So I was both shocked and saddened when I got new of its closing, but I was also happy for the family because they are broadening the scope of the cupcake business that (rightly) made them famous.

So you see, it's so sad that I won't be able to pop into the shop, eat scrumptious cupcakes and chit-chat with Matt and Allison, but it's also good news because now I'll be able to eat Matt and Allison's unearthly amazing cupcakes at a local place. Coyi Cafe, I'm looking at you...
So, please join us all wishing Matt and Allison the best on their new venture and look for their famous cupcake creations in NYC and the surrounding area (soon). You know CTTC will keep you posted.

"To Our Beloved Customers:
Over the past few months, we have experienced phenomenal success with our cupcakes and baked goods, all thanks to you. We have received acclaim not only locally, but on a national level, which is something we never could have anticipated when we opened over a year ago. Due to this, we have a demand for them not just in Bay Ridge [Brooklyn], but have had requests from all over the country!
As much as we love running this shop, we have realized that we cannot continue to grow our cupcake business and run our mom-and-pop shop in the way we envisioned it. We do all of our baking ourselves in small batches, attend to everything personally, and we have reached a point where we just cannot do it all. Aside from this, we have two young children who need their mom and dad to be there for them, not just be juggling two businesses seven days a week.
We have made the difficult decision to close our retail business on Sunday, October 25th, and continue solely as a cupcake and dessert wholesaling business serving the New York City area, with a Webshop for national customers. We will miss all of you who have come in every week, who have become not just customers, but part of our family. This has been one of the best years of our lives, because you were in it. As hard as it is to let go, we feel that moving in this direction is not only what is best for our business, but also for our family.
Thank you for the love and support you have shown us over the past thirteen months, and for taking our cupcakes to this level. We never could have dreamed this would have happened to us, and we are forever grateful to you all.
All of our love,
Allison and Matt"
