We'd have let you know if we'd known about this...always great to hear about cupcake bakeries that we saw open keep on doing what they're doing and opening more bakeries!

Dozen Bake Shop kicked off the opening of its fifth area location by giving away mini cupcakes to its first 500 customers.
Aside from cupcakes, the new location, at 1509 E. Carson St. on the South Side, offers quiche, sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, danish, scones, muffins, pumpkin and apple bread, cookies and more.
The shop opened late in the afternoon Thursday, offering 250 mini cupcakes for free, but Friday was the first day with its normal operating hours.
