My earliest memory of baking cupcakes or anything else was when I was about 6 or 7 and I played "Cooking Show" at my mother's counter wearing her high heeled shoes so I could reach the top of the counter. There was a local TV cooking show (54 years ago) long before Food Network and I loved it! I have loved cooking and baking ever since. I bake tons of goodies for gifts each year and hope to be able to do it for a long time to come. Sure hope I win the book because I have grandchildren who love to bake with me!! Barbara Herring

This is so cute! I've been eating cupcakes for as long as I can remember, but I started baking them a couple years ago. I love them so much, I had to start making some of my own.

I must have been about 7 or so and remember baking with my Granny. We called them fairy cakes back then in the Uk

My most vivid cupcake memory was when I baked my very first batch all on my own in fifth grade. We had to teach the class a "How-To" of some kind and I chose How to Make Cupcakes. I accidentally doubled the butter and they didn't rise. They were still delicious and the class liked them. I just put a lot of frosting on them to make up for the missing cake!

I began baking at age 12. My best friend and I used to bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies and all sorts of yummy things. We used our families as the testers of our creations. My favorite flavor is still any type of chocolate! ficra@foxisland.net

I started baking when I was about 13 yrs old. I took a boxed mixed and wanted to make a cake. Turns out the oven was broken. So my mom steamed it instead. It was not the best first experience. haha But years & years later, I decided to give it a try again! cschow [at] gmail [dot] com
