Update on the German MickeyD's cupcakes

We Love Cupcakes in Frankfurt, Germany.

So pretty!

Thank you to all the readers who sent in answers to my German-translation pleas here. One reader in Germany sent in more than translations. We received photos and reviews from Rani, a cupcake store owner in Frankfurt (see photos of Rani's shop, We Love Cupcakes, above)! Rani wrote in and said,

"I was just as surprised as you are to find out that McDonald's now sells cupcakes. Cupcakes are still fairly new in Germany and most of our customers still call them muffins."

Ha! Muffins.

"Here is a simple translation of what McDonald's is saying:

Basically McDonald's picked 4 models to represent 4 neighborhoods that German tourists would definitely know.


CENTRAL PARK

"Everyone in New York hangs out here. My tip: Get yourself a strawberry cupcake, sit on a bench and enjoy your personal central park moment."


CHELSEA

"Chelsea used to be hip, then it wasn't, now it is again. Was that too fast? Well that's New York for you. My tip: Simply relax at the harbor or at the lake with a chocolate cupcake and enjoy that Chelsea feeling."


EAST VILLAGE

"This is where the most renowned New York artists come from. And here tourists search dozens of galleries for art. I am going to play Andy Warhol and tell you everything I like about art. This cappuccino cupcake for instance is great art."

SOHO

"Sightseeing? Everything here is worth exploring. Start on Houston Street and work your way south. Or just get a piece of Soho in your homeland: After a stroll through your city relax a little and focus on the small things such as a vanilla cupcake. But only briefly cause it’s so yummy."

Rani's review:

"As for the taste you could tell they were mass-produced. The best was the cappuccino and the worst was the strawberry. The fruit flavor was just too fake. Chocolate and vanilla were ok'ish. The cake on all of them was not very cupcakey but rather like a heavier pound cake."
