Eat Real Food Festival this weekend in Oakland, CA!

Come out to Jack London Square this weekend for the Eat Real Food Festival in Oakland, CA!

From their website:

Eat it. Make it. Grow it. Why choose when you can do all three? Truck loads of great food, tons of exciting demos that show the necessary food skills to survive the urban wild, performances, pop-up gardens, and more.
For free.
Eat Real’s mission is to make real food as accessible and as affordable as fast food at events held in strategic communities across the United States. Eat Real’s success will be measured by increased public awareness of and respect for the craft of making good food and by the growth of green collar jobs in America’s growing regional food economies. Eat Real’s vision is of an America where food’s crucial importance to the health of our bodies, communities and economy is universally recognized, and where access to healthy and affordable real foods is a right, not a privilege. Also, in our ideal America, food tastes a whole lot better.

Two cupcakeries participating in the event this year are Kara's Cupcakes and The Oakland Cupcake Company, both feature cupcake varieties made from organic and fresh ingredients.

The Karavan will be serving up some of Kara's finest cupcakes along side dozens of other street food vendors.

One of my absolute favorites - the Fleur de Sel - chocolate cupcake with caramel filling, ganache frosting and fleur de sel.

Entrance is free and all food items are $5 and under!
