On Monday night I went to New York City restaurant Rosa Mexicano and stuffed myself with delicious food (they come and make the guacamole with a mortar and pestle right next to you, to your spiciness specification), so by the time they took our plates away, I wasn't planning on having dessert...until I saw a cupcake on the menu! Yes, a $9 cupcake on the menu at a Mexican Restaurant. How could I resist?

Here's the official description from the menu:
Pingüino - Hazelnut Chocolate Cupcake homemade mexican chocolate cupcake filled with hazelnut mousse and topped with creme fraiche whipped cream. served with an espresso-piloncillo-chocolate sauce.
It was, indeed, delicious, and well worth being extra full and costing $9. The mouse inside was incredibly rich, and the whole thing was decadent and delicious. The cake was pretty dense and overall felt more like a "small cake" than a cupcake, and that is the only real reason I can point out, the cake wasn't as light as I'm used to in a cupcake, but I'm not complaining at all. I wouldn't say go to Rosa Mexicano for the cupcake, because the food is amazing, but if you do go, save room for your cupcake dessert!
