The latest on Food Network cupcake reality show Cupcake Wars, via Playbill.com:
Four cupcake bakers will battle for a place at the star-studded party for the Los Angeles opening of Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman's Wicked on the upcoming broadcast of The Food Network's "Cupcake Wars."
The Wicked-themed episode is scheduled to debut Jan. 1, 2012, at 8 PM ET with encore broadcasts scheduled for Jan. 2 at 3 AM ET and Jan. 3 at 8 PM ET.
Each week on "Cupcake Wars," according to production notes, "four of the country’s top cupcake bakers face off in three elimination challenges until only one decorator remains. The sweet prize: $10,000 and the opportunity to showcase their cupcakes at the winning gig."
Justin Willman hosts; judges include Candace Nelson and Florian Bellanger.
