A little background from FEAST Magazine:
St. Louis baker Stephanie Chapman has been crafting mini cupcakes on and off for Straub's Markets since 2007.
Earlier this year, however, she realized that her tiny treats - sold under the name of Petite Sweets - might have bigger potential on the local market.
"This past summer, I turned 40 and came to a crossroads of either chasing my dream of opening a storefront or walking away," she says.
Fortunately for cupcake lovers, she chose the former path and is working to open a store in Webster Groves. She's changed the business name to St. Louis Cupcake to better define the offerings and hopes to be up and running by 2012.
