Chicago bakery Swirlz Cupcakes is turning 7 and has a special charity cupcake to share!

Chicago bakery Swirlz Cupcakes is turning 7 - I feel like there should be "bakery years" the way they are "dog years," because that is definitely something to celebrate! They have been very wonderful to our blog and make some of the best gluten free cupcakes (as well as non gluten free) I've ever had, so if you are in Chicago or planning a visit, do check them out. The National Kidney Foundation provided major support to Swirlz cupcakes' co-owner and resident hero, Brandon Mayberry, when he donated his kidney, and now we want to support them back. From September 14th through March 14th 2014 (World Kidney Day), you will be able to donate both in-store and at Swirlz' fundraising page. Donor Brandon Mayberry has committed to personally match all donations within the 6 month fundraising initiative up to $7,000, representative of Swirlz' 7 years in business.

In addition, Swirlz will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from our "cupcake for a cause" (vanilla cake, chocolate ganache layer, vanilla buttercream), available the last two weeks of September and first two weeks of March 2014, to the National Kidney Foundation.
