Cupcakes, Cupcakes everywhere!

Cupcakes are cropping up all over the place, which I guess is what happens when you run a cupcake blog and people know you love them. This weekend I sampled a delicious chocolate/chocolate cupcakes from Mystic Market in Mystic, Connecticut, proving that you don't have to be a bakery to whip up delicious desserts.

Speaking of which, Whole Foods deserves a major shoutout for their cheap and delicious cupcakes. You might think...Whole Foods = health = not-so-tasty cupcakes, but that is NOT the case. My roommate brought me home a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting and it was so good that I just had to buy some for our party. The cake was extremely moist and delicious, and the frosting was very sweet, with just the right amount of it.

Finally, cupcakes are in the latest issue of Life & Style Weekly in their Star Spotting section:

"Christopher Meloni (Law & Orders: SVU) and his production designer wife, Sherman Williams, at NYC's Soho Cupcake Company, buying 25 mini-buttercream cupcakes for daughter Sophia's 4th birthday."

We must make a cupcake blog trip there to check out all the yummy flavors of cupcakes. I think these two sound delish:

The Soho – Our signature cupcake. Moist chocolate cake filled and frosted with white chocolate buttercream and drizzled with white and dark chocolate

Fluffernutter – Feel like a kid again! Moist vanilla filled and topped with our yummy marshmallow AND peanut butter buttercream then drizzled with real peanut butter and marshmallow fluff.

Hmm interesting. I've sampled lots of Whole Foods stuff from the food court (dessert pizza, meatballs) and thought they were substandard. I was losing hope!
