art and cupcakes/tea and cupcakes

Cupcake news from both coasts:

Seattle

From Tina Randolph, a friend of a friend:

You are invited to my art opening this Saturday
evening at Verite/Cupcake Royale in Ballard.
TIME: 7:00-9:00 p.m.
ADDRESS: 2052 n.w. market st
This is part of Ballard's monthly art walk and it
should be a really fun evening. This new work is
mostly composites made of wood, metal, wax, gouache
tinted cement, salvaged architectural panels &
cardboard. I am really proud of this work.
I hope to see you all SATURDAY NIGHT.

New York

Chelsea Peretti told me last night that one of my favorite tea shops, Sympathy for the Kettle, now serves delicious cupcakes. Must check them out ASAP - maybe on Saturday with my fellow cupcake bloggers? I also love the fact that Chelsea said "I almost called you to let you know. I can't eat a cupcake now without thinking of you." I think for all three of us, cupcakes have sortof taken over our lives in many ways; I don't go a day without mentioning them at least once. And soon we will all have tote bags to take all our stuff (some of us more than others) around the city and Florida and whereever. Yes, cupcakes are indeed a way of live, which is precisely what we plan to expound upon, but more on that later.
