Do you know where I might find black cupcake wrappers? I need them for my wedding. I am putting cupcake -"Cake"-towers on each table. Thanks!

I'm throwing a baby shower for my friend, who's having a girl. I want to do cupcakes instead of cake, because I think it is cuter and more fun! Plus we're going to have about 50-60 people and it will be easier to serve. Do I need to get a tower, or can I just stack them (maybe with toothpicks to hold them in place)?

They're expensive, but they're black!

I think a cupcake stand is best. Here's a really cute one, from Michael's: http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=sc0601

The black/brown cupcake liners are so hard to find. Everyone and their dog has been looking for them!
As for stacking that many cupcakes...it won't look very pretty and your cupcakes will get smushed...use cakestands or a cupcake stand.

Okay, one last time. The 52 Cupcakes chick found some black liners at http://www.confectioneryhouse.com/ but when I looked they didn't have any. Maybe you could email them. Here's a link to their other colors: http://www.confectioneryhouse.com/?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=stbakcup

I recently emailed the Confectionary House about the brown/black liners. They emailed back and said that their supplier had stopped making them and they were looked for another supplier. I wish they were easy to make...we could make a killing on some really cool cupcake liners...especially with so many people using them for weddings!

I live in London and had no idea brown/black cases were so difficult to obtain!
You can buy brown cases reasonably easily at shops like John Lewis. Online you can buy pastel, foil (red, silver and gold) tartan, floral and BROWN cases at - www.edsol-party-supplies.com.
This is a UK based company 50 cases cost £1.69 or $2.94 (approx)for brown cases. Other cases range between £1.19 - £2.25.
I will see if I can find a supplier for black cases, here or in Europe ...

Sorry, even better - you get 100 cases for £1.69 or $2.94!!!!

I think you should stack them. You don't want the cupcakes to look nasty, now do you? As for the black cupcake liners, I don't know where to get them. Sorry. :(

This is a bit lengthy, but hopefully helpful:
I've found dark brown (w/gold) liners at a great baker's supply store in my city (Minneapolis) called Sweet Celebrations. They have an online catalog at http://www.sweetc.com/ that shows just a fraction of their inventory
(liners are on pg 127-8). If you were to call them I bet they could tell you if strictly black liners even exist.

As an alternate option, check out item A on page 127. You could modify this "crown" concept to fit your needs by purchasing black cardstock from a paper/art store. Measure the length needed to wrap around a standard cupcake liner and determine how high you would like the frosting to rest. While you could glue the ends into a cylinder, I might suggest fashioning a 'hook and notch' to make it easier and less messy for the guest to get at the cupcake.
An interesting thing to consider with this idea would be to make the "crowns" in several different heights and cluster them in the center of the tables into an abstract cupcake stand and centerpiece. You could even take the idea a step further and wrap thin cylinder bud vases in the same or, better still, coordinating, paper and have a few choice blooms poking out above and between the cupcakes. That way, once the cupcakes have been enjoyed, you will still have something on the tables for the remainder of the evening.
Good Luck!

I made a cupcake tree for a wedding yesterday. An easy way to make a great presentation is to get some sturdy plexiglass and get it cut to the square sizes you need and go to a local store and find some glass 3" candle sticks and put four or so to support the next layer (and hot glue it so it won't slide around). I put glass blocks as a base and it looked beautiful.
