Boston Cupcakes

In the Boston Herald, there's a nice article about cupcakes and cupcake bakeries.
Cosmo Cupcakes and Blue Frog Bakery are mentioned. Have any of you readers sampled cupcakes from those places? Send us your reviews in the comments!

Don't forget Lyndell's in Somerville, an unpretentious, no frills bakery established in 1887.

Cosmos cupcakes are wonderful!!!!

First of all, they're fun too look at.
And the frosting is tasty, sugary.

Mine had purple spikes with white spikes interspersed. And chocolate cake.

Delux Town Diner is pretty good too!!!

Darn!! Where was this article while I was in Boston two weeks ago?!? Arrrrgh!!
I can't believe those are the only bakeries mentioned! I sadly find Cosmo's to be fun to look at but less fun to eat, with okay cake but weird-tasting icing.

Lyndell's is one of the more hidden, but more popular sites.

Lulu's Bake Shoppe in the North End has quickly become a much-discussed cupcake spot since opening recently.

And I absolutely cannot believe that they didn't mention Petsi Pies, which is known for their great coconut creme cupcakes and their amazing Whoopie Cake (chocolate with whipped cream filling and a fantastic chocolate icing)!

Of all the places they could have featured, I'm sad that the Globe limited themselves to just the few they did.

I just came across your site and must add that the cupcakes from the Blue Frog Bakery in Jamaica Plain are the best I've ever had. The cake was moist and the buttercream amazing! The price was right now, a large one was $1.75. They are well worth the trip from anywhere in Boston.
