Your book, Daddy Needs a Drink, chronicles your adventures in parenting your two children. Do you ever bake cupcakes as a family? Has your perspective on cupcakes changed since becoming a dad?

My kids, Poppy (10) and London (5) and I do bake together though many of our cakes and cupcakes come out rather lopsided due to poor measuring and high altitude. My perspective on cupcakes have changed due to the types of unnatural colors of frosting you can get at your local supermarket (mostly for kids birthdays).

How often do you eat cupcakes?

Not often enough dammit.

What's the best thing about eating cupcakes?

"They're delicious," London says.

What's your favorite type of cupcake?

They group cupcakes together here to form a funky-looking cake so that way no kid gets ripped off by being served a stingy slice.

How do cupcakes compare/contrast to other baked goods for you?

I'm more of a brownie sundae man myself.

Is there any innovation you'd like to see made to the cupcake that would improve it for you?

One that could make a grown man cry.

Do you bake your own cupcakes? Or (even better) have someone who bakes them for you?

No one has answered my ad, yet but I have high hopes.

What's your first cupcake-related memory?

Unfortunately it has to do with a Hostess binge in the 5th grade in the boys bathroom.

What's the most fun you've ever had with a cupcake?

Kicking one.

Do you have anything else to add?

Happy Father's Day!
