Santa Monica bakery post #2: Vanilla Bake Shop

The brand-new (opened today!) Santa Monica bakery Vanilla Bake Shop offers daily flavors and was just featured in Daily Candy, which said:

Known on the party circuit for posh cupcake towers and their liberal use of crushed Nielsen-Massey Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans, bakers Amy and Jeremy Berman have a new, boutiquey spot with cotton candy pink walls, damask wallpaper, white chandeliers, and dark wood floors.

And there’s substance to back up their style. Using Belgian chocolates and farmers market ingredients, they make cupcakes like Meyer lemon raspberry and banana chocolate chip in regular and baby sizes (some even come stuffed with filling!), fancy-pants layer cakes (espresso milk, passion fruit cream) and homey icebox desserts (Dirt cake, banana pudding).

Also, the Los Angeles Cupcake Meetup group will be going to Vanilla on August 5th (and SusieCakes on July 21st and Danties Cupcakes on August 25th). The blog Our Wedding Plus posted about Vanilla. I myself am a huge cupcake lover. I was into Sprinkles for example, until i had cupcakes from Vanilla Bake Shop! They are to die for, no joke. I was recently at a wedding in Laguna Beach, and there was an awesome cupcake tower instead of a cake. Just by seeing them displayed, let alone eating, i knew right away where they were from. Vanilla has my vote!Keep those treats coming, i think im addicted now!
