ADDISON DELIGHTS WITH COMPLIMENTARY HAUTE MINIATURE CUPCAKES
SAN DIEGO, CA. (August 14, 2007) – Petits fours? Miniardies? Truffles? Addison’s executive chef William Bradley wanted to do something different. He decided that the last sweet morsels presented to Addison guests as a farewell gift should be delicious, unique, whimsical – memorable. Piggy-backing on the newish cupcake craze and on the oldish fact that almost everyone loves cupcakes, Chef Bradley and his pastry team are creating their own version of this classic.
What: A “flight” of four dainty, bite-sized cupcakes are plated on a long Bernardaud china platter, each in its own gold-foiled cup atop a bed of granulated sugar. The mini delectables are lined up from left to right, lighter in appearance and taste of cake and frosting to darker and heavier á la cheese or wine tasting flights.
The present line-up is rose champagne cake and frosting; Meyer lemon cake with vanilla bean topping; brown-buttered cake and peanut butter frosting; and lastly chocolate with chocolate. Chef Bradley plans to change the flavors of these flights monthly, depending on what’s in season and his whim á la minute.
