Jit Fong Chin at the OC Register's Feeding Frenzy blog tastes the cupcakes at Charmed Cupcakes:

Charmed Cupcakes sells vanilla, chocolate and red velvet every day, and rotates other flavors throughout the week. I picked up four to try: chocolate banana, peanut butter cup, pineapple upside down and Dutch apple pie.
In short, these four were great. This store has licked the frosting category by coming up with a recipe that’s buttery and smooth. Each $3.50 cupcake was huge, larger than Bristol Farms’ cupcakes, and unwieldy for me to eat with one palm.
Charmed Cupcakes The presentation was immaculate (any bit of smudging you see was caused by my clumsy hands), though rather standard with a swirl-topped-by-accent design, compared to the creativity of other stores. There are also $6 versions of each cupcake that come with special topping, e.g. a super cute, all-sugar, full-color monkey for the chocolate banana cupcake. (The cake and frosting are the same as the regular cupcakes.)
Peanut butter cupI liked how in the chocolate banana, I could taste banana in both the cake and frosting. The peanut butter cup delighted with a layer of peanut butter near the bottom. (See picture on left.) The Dutch apple pie was moist and heavier with apple bits … so moist, in fact, it tasted like a heavy, sweet bread. This would make a great apple muffin without the frosting. As for the pineapple upside down … well, ain’t anything wrong with it, but two bites gave me sugary heart palpitations. I just can’t eat candy the way I used to be able to.
Get more info at the Charmed Cupcakes website where personally I found the most exciting thing is that they have a Wii! I would travel there just for that; okay, maybe not from New York, but next time I'm in LA, for sure!
Charmed Cupcakes is proud to present the revolutionary new Nintendo Wii Gaming System! If you haven't had the opportunity to try the Wii and its interactive gaming interface, we encourage you to stop by and see what all the commotion is all about!

But that leaves us wondering...who owns the still in formation www.charmedcupcakes.com?
Charmed Cupcakes also offers cupcake parties and gives to charity. Yelp users have had mixed experiences. Have any of you been to Charmed Cupcakes? If so, share in the comments or via email how their cupcakes measured up!
