Why do you love cupcakes so much?
Cupcakes are great to have for a celebration, any celebration! In fact, you don't even need a reason at all to have one!

What's your favorite place to get cupcakes?
I do not have a favourite place at the moment but the cupcakes at Marmalade's are pretty good.

What makes a cupcake a good one (or a bad one, if there's such a thing)?

Personally, I'm big on the flavour and texture of a cupcake. The frosting should compliment and not overwhelm the taste of the cupcake. Pretty cupcakes are a definite plus point but ultimately, I want to be able to devour the cupcake.

What's your fantasy cupcake flavor (one you've never seen but would love to eat)?
Mango and Nata de Coco Cupcakes with Zesty Cream Cheese Frosting.

How often do you eat cupcakes?
Not as often as I would love to.

What's the best thing about eating cupcakes?
- Bite-size portions!
- Portable!
- You don't need a fork and a plate or worse a serviette/napkin or tissue papers to eat it from!
- You don't need to share!
- The beautiful thing about cupcakes are it is not just about eating them but giving them. The appreciation the giver gets from the receiver...Priceless!

What's your favorite type of cupcake?
My personal favourites are those seductively dark chocolate ones and tenderly infused fruit-filled cupcakes.

How do cupcakes compare/contrast to other baked goods for you?
I love my curry puffs and pies but you can't "doll" them up as how you can with cupcakes! Cupcakes can be transformed into multi-coloured works of art. The possibilities are endless with cupcakes!

Is there any innovation you'd like to see made to the cupcake that would improve it for you?
Not really...cupcakes are a part of an American culture but it would be nice to have Asian-infused flavoured or perhaps a distinctive Singapore "flava" cupcakes here.

You bake your own cupcakes, but do you also have someone in your life who bakes them for you?
Sadly no. I'm sure my family's happy to leave all the baking to me and all the eating to them.

What's your first cupcake-related memory?
Baking my first batch of cupcakes which I thought were disastrous - the texture of the cupcakes was dry and the frosting sickeningly sweet! Somehow some family members thought it was still a great effort on my part and encouraged me to try again. As they say, "Failure is not an option". After baking what seemed to be hundreds of cupcakes and giving away (almost weekly) free cupcakes to my the hubby's, sister's and my own coIleagues, I received my first ever order.

What's the most fun you've ever had with a cupcake?
Making cupcakes and decorating them with my daughter. We had a blast!

Why are cupcakes seemingly so popular in Singapore, considering their American origins?
With technologies like the Internet and good old Hollywood TV, the cupcake craze had taken a phenomenal hold here in Singapore. It became such chic treats sought after by mostly women, of all ages, who ordered them for birthdays, weddings, engagement parties, anniversaries, baby showers, thank-you gifts, corporate events etc. The bite-size portions and the fact that cupcakes comes in a myriad of flavours and can be designed and decorated to suit whatever occasion you're celebrating at the moment, made cupcakes the preferred choice.

Do you have anything else to add?
Thank you for having me here and to all cupcake lovers and bakers, "Have your cupcake and eat it too!"

Okay, can someone tell me how you eat these great looking cupcakes that are baked in those little cups with the rim? They look amazing, but I've never had one, and am curious!
