I'm sure they are very tasty - the recipe looks like an adaptation of Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes from Feast by Nigella Lawson.
The name is very tasteless - as someone who comes from Ireland and who lived through the Troubles I was shocked to see a cupcake named after a car bomb. Car bombs were very real here, they killed people, they injured people, they caused fear and sorrow. I can't see anything funny in the naming of this cupcake.

in reference to the first comment... an Irish Car Bomb is an alcoholic shot. the cupcake, I'm sure, is named after that.

Actually, it kind of does. Im sure the cupcake creator had no influence on the name of the drink, and as the cupcake is supposed to taste like the drink, there is no offense meant. It is a yummy drink that has been around for a long while. It is unfortunate that it should be the cause of any more pain than a hangover.

It is a yummy drink that has been around for a long while. It is unfortunate that it should be the cause of any more pain than a hangover.
But I'd few time so I did a cake instead of cupcakes...
I'm Italian, so I never herd about car bomb shots....but I didn't let no one of my friends who had taste this cake to drive home alone!
