Molly's Cupcakes: "bite-sized pieces of fun"

"New shop is a study in cupcakes," The Chicago Tribune

"Cupcakes are comfort food to many people," said John Nicolaides, the founder of Molly's. "They're nostalgic. They're like bite-sized pieces of fun."...

Baked in small batches throughout the day, the lineup varies. Expect chocolate, red velvet, carrot and vanilla cupcakes ($2 each) every day—with choice of frosting: French buttercream, chocolate, brown butter, vanilla or cream cheese. With a nod to nostalgia, some have fillings, including a cookies and cream (think Oreos) and a strawberry shortcake cupcake with buttercream frosting that's filled with fresh strawberries cooked in brown sugar ($3.50-$3.75 each).

Customers also can choose special toppings, such as gummy bears and chocolate chips, for an extra 25 cents. The shop also makes "mini Mollys" ($1 each) and vegan cupcakes.
