"Bumpy cake" is a Michigan thing. Orginally a Sanders creation with rows of fluffy white buttercream covered in fudgy chocolate icing. They also made a caramel one. Unfortunately the last Detroit Sanders ice cream parlors closed years ago. See a picture here.
