Last Sunday, Cupcakes Take The Cake kicked off Cupcakes For A Cause week with a cupcake bake sale at the Brooklyn Flea. Volunteers brought a variety of cupcakes including pumpkin spice, chocolate chile, s'mores, chocolate mint, coconut, maple chocolate chip and even plain old vanilla and chocolate. We also got a donation of assorted cupcakes from Crumbs Bakeshop.
While selling cupcakes, I spotted Food Network's Ted Allen at the Brooklyn Flea. He didn't buy a cupcake but lots of people did. If you have never been to the Brooklyn Flea, I highly recommend going on Sunday. It's a big outdoor flea market in Fort Greene and they are some really cool vendors of vintage clothing, furniture, jewelry and some tasty food.
Thanks to all our volunteers, we raised $700 for Cupcakes For A Cause. You can help also by buying a cupcake in one of the participating bakeries/cupcakeries around NYC and all over the country. Also, if you want to send an e-cupcake to friend, you can do that, too.
