Playbill brings word that Pinkalicious the Musical is coming back to New York. I saw it a few months ago and it was so fun! The kids got to talk back to the stage and "help" the actors, and the costume and story were super-cute. All photos here by me; see more in my Flickr set. See our interview with Elizabeth and Victoria Kann, author and illustrator of the kids' book that started it all, Pinkalicious. It's even a New York Times bestseller!
Vital Theatre Company has announced that the production has found a new venue and will resume performances at the Bleecker Street Theatre, playing Saturdays and Sundays at 1 PM.
Pinkalicious features book and lyrics by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann and music, lyrics and orchestrations by John Gregor. Teresa K. Pond directs with musical direction by Jad Bernardo.
The musical is described as such: "Pinkalicious can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe — a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament.
