I got the scoop from Eric Smith, Executive Chef/Partner in Oklahoma City's about-to-launch bakery Sara Sara Cupcakes, which we posted about yesterday. They will open Friday, October 28th but will be taking Thanksgiving orders for "country pumpkin" cupcakes by phone that can be picked up at the store 11-26. He wrote:
It is a family business that we have always desired to have and we have a passion for food and more specifically cupcakes. Our flavors are approachable, recognizeable gourmet interpretations of the familar. Most of them are based on classic desserts as well as 3 breakfast cupcakes one of which you mentioned in your blog. The bacon egg and cheese cupcake features, pancetta and chopped Italian style omelette. Additionally our concept features a "Milk Bar" where guests receive a chilled pint glass and can choose from whole milk, chocolate & the special which will initially be eggnog. The milks are held at 34 degrees F in a special stainless steel dispenser and is not only the perfect compliment to the perfect cupcake, but a unique experience in and of itself. We also sell boutique hot tea and gourmet coffee.
