Cupcakes at Housing Works

Housing Works on Crosby Street in SoHo in NYC is fast becoming my favorite bookstore/cafe. You can find advance book galleys for $3 and it's a mellow, quiet place to have coffee/tea and read/work, and...they have cupcakes. Now, they are not the world's best cupcakes. They taste kinda cornbready and very simple and homemade, but they're $2 and the money goes to help people with HIV/AIDS. I'm always happy to see cupcakes, even if they are not world-class ones, because just the sight of them brightens my day.

Housing Works is the best place ever! Such a cozy, intimate place to get lost in a book or peruse their great racks. The vanilla cupcakes are so tasty, worth the trip downtown!
