Flickr user jennywenny asks in our Flickr discussion pool about how many cupcakes to serve at a wedding:
Its a fairly informal cocktail party with 80 guests. This will be the dessert. I would guess about 100? 1.25 per guest?
I'm probably going to make 3 or 4 different flavors
If you have some advice for her, chime in here or on Flickr. Thanks!

Cool question - we got married just over 3 weeks ago, and had incredible cupcakes (regular and mini, same flavor) and cookies with coffee for our very tiny (8 including us) reception. (chocolate cake with vanilla frosting)
One thing we noted in tasting ahead as we prepared to place our order - despite being identical in composition, I liked the larger ones better as the frosting was just spread on for a homemade look and it was piped onto the minis which changed it for me somehow in the "bite into it" feel. We got a dozen of each, and a couple dozen mini (large mini!) cookies - oatmeal and double chocolate. I think everyone at at least one mini, and some of the bigger ones (I had 2!) as well as some cookies. We enjoyed the leftovers during the rest of our stay, but you could send them off with folks in cute boxes.
Enjoy!
You can't go wrong with 1.25 per head unless you didn't have enough hors doeuvres.
