I'm so drawn to this gorgeous Valentine's Day cupcake on a beautiful matching plate. I paused and stared at it when I saw it in our Flickr pool. So gorgeous, right? Well, it gets better. These are all from Jess Lander on Flickr, who I believe is married to Christian Lander of Stuff White People Like blogfame (curiously, cupcakes aren't on there yet, though they seem like a very ripe candidate).
So that perfect little cupcake? It gets split in two:

Jess writes of this one: "not whipped cream - though, to be honest, since it's been in the fridge since sun., it pretty much tasted the same."
And then she adds whipped cream!

I totally thought when I first saw it that extra cream somehow exploded out from the middle of this cupcake.
Also? This was her dinner! I usually need to eat "real food" before I eat a cupcake, but sometimes, they make the perfect dinner (or, um, breakfast or lunch).
Here's what she adds about her experience dining on this cupcake:
ok, as with all cupcakes with filling, they generally should be eaten right away. and refrigerating them changes the texture of the filling. for this one, the marshmallow tasted like thawing whipped cream. and that is ok. because it was damn good anyway and i totally licked my plate. next time i will remember to eat this one first.
