Cupcake Mission seeks to "change the world one cupcake at a time"

I read about Cupcake Mission at WLBT of Jackson, Mississippi, which wrote about their event today, one of several they've hosted to raise money for charities via cupcakes:

The Harley-Davidson shop was the place to be Saturday for those with a sweet tooth.

Over 12-hundred cupcakes were for sale. All the proceeds went to the Trail of Honor, which is a tribute to the United States Military. Organizers hope to use the money to bring medal of honor recipients to Jackson to speak in the annual event held on the trail in May.

The fundraiser was directed by "Cupcake Mission."

"Cupcake Mission is literally a mission to save the world one cupcake at a time. And we go in and try to organize these events for people who want to raise money and awareness for a cause they feel passionate about," said Meg Weidner, director of Cupcake Mission.

Here's what they say about the ingredients for a fundraiser:

The simple ingredients for a cupcake mission are charity of choice, guest list, venue, cupcakes, beverages, napkins, and money jar. As with all recipes, it is only as successful as your personal touches make it. And when it comes to raising money for charity, use all your resources and ignite your creative energy.

They even have an inspiring trailer:

I feel inspired to bake. Awesome site, ladies. Just discovered you via a shout out on Twitter by Zagat.

If ever you visit Dallas, TX., please stop by Society Bakery at Greenville Ave. and McCommas Blvd. They have incredibly delicious, downhome cupcakes. What makes them extra sweet is the bakery's mission to support charities with profits.
