Shipping cupcakes to Greece?

A reader wrote to ask about international cupcake shipping, and since I don't know the answer, I thought I'd turn it over to you:

i am a hopeless cupcake addict. i now live in Athens Greece. It has been impossible to find a bakery to ship cakes to Greece. They could be here in a couple of days with DHL. Do you happen to know a bakery that might ship international?

Anyone? Would love to know the answer.

Also, I'm going to Geneva, Switzerland for a week in mid-May, and possibly elsewhere in Switzerland. I will do some Googling but if anyone knows of anywhere in Switzerland I could get cupcakes, I'd love to hear about it, here or at cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com - I was supposed to go to Italy, where I know there are cupcakes, but plans got changed. I'm also planning a Memorial Day weekend trip to Kansas City, but I'll post more about that closer to the date.

while in KC take the time to make a trip to Daddycakes in Topeka KS. It will be well worth your time. By far the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life... and i am an addict and baker.

Hmm, now your friend can buy cupcakes in Greece! My wife is opening a trendy cupcake shop in Nafplio (in the Peloponnese) but until we move there later in the summer, we are still in Athens.

There is a woman who makes them in Athens, Greece. Everyone I know always orders from her. She is American and makes them just like back home if not better! They are also baked to order so they are always super super fresh!

Greek Daily TA NEA yesterday featured a full page story on cupcakes taking Greece! See it here.

It mentions 3 bakeries: 2 already mentioned in here: Bakergirl and Liz Zachopoulos' Cupcakes at www.cupcakes.gr , both in Athens Greece, and a new one, Niki from Larissa, somewhere up north (still in Greece).
