Would you eat a peanut butter and jelly cupcake

peanut butter and jelly cupcake from Pleasantville, NY's Flour & Sun Bakery, via Flickr

I'm trying to decide if I would want a peanut butter and jelly cupcake. I may well have had one once, I can't remember. I used to love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as a kid, and still can eat peanut butter straight from the jar, something I get from my grandmother, who totally does that.

I love peanut butter frosting, and especially chocolate/peanut butter cupcakes. But PB&J? I'm intrigued and think it's cool that bakeries make these.

I guess I'll have to get to Flour & Sun or some other bakery selling these and try one sometime to really tell.

Have you had a PB&J cupcake? If so, let us know what you thought.

I'd definitely eat one of these, they sound like the perfect mixture between sweet and savoury.

Yes I would definitely eat a PB&J cupcake, especially as PB&Js are regular on the menu at my house! I know that the peanut butter jelly doughnut from Doughnut Plant on Grand St. is AMAZING, so I am sure a cupcake would be similarly awesome.

I made PB&J cupcakes for my daughter's 12th birthday last weekend and everyone loved them. Even my ex, who said he just couldn't imagine liking a cupcake with jelly in it. One taste and he was won over.

You didn't get to try one from Glittle at Dr. Sketchys? It was pretty good and I'd love to have more.

That should not even be a question. That's like asking if you would eat a peanut butter and chocolate cupcake. I have had them from elsewhere (Chicago and Austin) and have made them myself. They are scrumptious. Try one. Do it. You won't be sorry, especially since you love peanut butter. And jelly. YUM. :)

P.S. I'm definitely a fan of the way the Flour and Sun pbj cupcake is done.... ;)

I've made these before, with both grape and strawberry jelly. I also fill them with jelly. They're a big hit with everyone! The classic combination of salty peanut butter and sweet jelly can't be beat!
