Zoo cupcakes to celebrate kids book Always Lots of Heiniees at the Zoo

Always Lots of Heinies at the Zoo cupcakes

Our friend Ayun Halliday has a new children's book out called Always Lots of Heiniees at the Zoo. It's very cute and about, well, animals' heinies - perfect for kids 3-5, or any age, really. I sent a copy to my 3 1/2-year-old cousin Adam. There's more info about the book at Ayun's site.

Ayun sent us this cupcake photo. She got the cupcakes on her book tour; they were made by Hannah Mathews and Karissa Randall and Ayun wrote, "Dan Santat's illustrations of flamingo, mandrill, beaver, monkey, panda, zebra, and elephant butts (plus one tiny human) lovingly recreated in fondant."

I'm not sure what little kids love more - animals or cupcakes? Either way, super cute and congratulations to Ayun, who we interviewed back in 2006 on her Dirty Sugar Cookies virtual book tour.

Michael Ian Black wrote a book called Chicken Cheeks that is the same premise. The cupcakes are cute though.
