Meet Martha Stewart tonight! Plus Martha talks cupcakes!

The Hartford Courant has an interview with the one and only Martha Stewart to promote her new book Martha Stewart's Cupcakes: 175 Inspired Ideas for Everyone's Favorite Treat (currently #36 on Amazon, meaning their 36th bestselling book out of ALL books, and #1 in the categories Sweets, Desserts, and Cakes) and her reading tonight. Wish we could be there! Anyone going? (We are still going to do a contest for this book, I'm just behind on things, but by tomorrow, I promise!)

From The Hartford Courant:

Q: Why cupcakes? Why now? Have you recently discerned any shift in their popularity?

A: Cupcakes are a classic dessert — a small and perfect indulgence that's a favorite among adults and children alike. They'll never go out of style! People like treats that can be enjoyed in individual portions, and what is better than an individual little cake that fits neatly in the palm of your hand?

Q: This book is from the editors of Martha Stewart Living. How involved were you in the book, and how passionate are you about cupcakes?

A: I love cupcakes and enjoy sharing delicious recipes and techniques for the perfect cupcake for any occasion. I work closely with our books team on all of our books and am proud to say that many of my favorite personal recipes, including my Meyer Lemon Cupcakes and my mother's Spice Cupcakes, are featured...

Q: Which is your personal favorite cupcake in the new book? Is it a simple one, or one that requires more artistry?

A: I love the sweet-tart flavor of Meyer lemons, which is what inspired Martha's Meyer Lemon Cupcakes. They look and taste just heavenly, and are actually quite simple to make.
