The Story Behind Our New Look

Last week, we got an email from Marina Simmons, a blog/web designer who runs Penny Lane Designs. She's a fan of the blog and offered to give Cupcakes Take The Cake a little makeover.

Any of you who have ever worked with a web designer knows that it can take several iterations to get what you want. However working with Marina was a breeze. It only took about ten emails and a couple of days.

First, I looked on Colour Lovers for a new color palette. I love that site which shows lots of different color palettes and patterns.

Then Marina created a selection of fonts and layouts for me to review. I wanted something that reflects fun but also classic. Fun because cupcakes make people happy. Classic because cupcakes are not just a popular trend. It is a classic dessert for celebrations, big and small.

I hope you enjoy the new look of Cupcakes Take The Cake. We are always cooking up new things for our readers, and won't rest on our laurels or cupcake liners. :)
