As you may (or may not) know, I can't resist gorgeous flower cupcakes. They're like passing by a flower stand and stopping and buying flowers for no reason at all. (Mind you, I have not bought actual flowers in a looooong time, but flower cupcakes are a good - perhaps better? - substitute.)

Maggie and I made these cupcakes for the party on Saturday. They’re vanilla with strawberry-flavored fondant bud roses. We made the roses by hand (24 of them) and discovered Maggie is much more deft with that kind of work than I am. They came out looking great and tasted even better.
