Boston to get new cupcake bakery headed by Todd English's daughter

The Boston Herald brings us the news that Isabelle's CurlyCakes is set to open next month at 81 Charles Street in Beacon Hill in Boston. The Isabelle of the shop's name is the 16-year-old daughter of chef Todd English.

I couldn't find a URL for the bakery (again, of major importance to bakeries - always make sure you have at least a rudimentary site up once your local press starts so people can find you) but we'll post news as we have it and you can expect an in-person report from us soon after. I'm always looking for an excuse to visit Boston!

The shop will sell all-natural cupcakes, both sweet and savory. Isabelle, her parents and the pastry chef at her father’s Olives restaurant in Charlestown will brainstorm together about the products.

“You can kind of put your own personality into them as far as the decorating,” Isabelle said. “That’s what’s going to be different about our shop: Every cupcake will have its own personality.”

Isabelle has been interested in baking since she was 10, finding that following recipes and making up her own was relaxing and fun.

“My dad and I were in London this past spring and went to a cupcake store,” the Beaver Country Day School junior said. “That night at dinner, he started talking about it and kind of came up with the idea.”
