Bake Sale At Brooklyn Flea

We had a wonderful time yesterday at the Fort Greene Brooklyn Flea. It was a beautiful sunny day, but perhaps too sunny as some of the cupcakes' frosting started to melt in the sun. We had a wealth of volunteers including two high school juniors from Long Island, and bakers from Eastchester, Ridgewood, Staten Island and a recent Fordham graduate. Representing Cupcakes Take The Cake were Mary Ann, Melissa and me. Also Matt Lewis from Baked stopped by in the morning and Julie Mulligan from 1800Flowers came by in the afternoon Due to the Rosh Hashanah holiday, we may not had as many people stopping by our bake sale, but it was a big success! We raised $617.56. Our final goal is $1000, so please donate via Firstgiving. Thanks to all volunteers and friends!

While I probably shouldn't have tried venturing out anywhere yesterday (I was the kid with the bad case of sniffles at the beginning of the day), my s'mores cupcake was delicious enough that I can't regret going. :D I'm glad to hear so much money was raised! Fingers crossed that you hit the thousand-dollar mark.

Wow, I think those are the biggest cupcakes I've ever seen. How much were those going for? They look great!

If any of you are in the Seattle area, be sure to stop by Trophy Cupcakes. They have some great/original cupcake creations.
